Learning - It's How We Move Forward

Post by PCP_admin »

.
Throughout human history we keep adding to our collective knowledge base.

We've learned how to feed ourselves comfortably year-round.
We've learned how to construct durable buildings, roads, cars.
We've learned how to help or fix a lot of medical and health issues.
We've learned a lot about how land, air, oceans, and space work.
The internet has allowed EVERYONE to access all of mankind's previous learning, instantly.

There are some problems, though:

- A lot of people don't value education
- A lot of people mis-trust education and science
- A lot of people have educational gaps (stuff they should know but don't)
- A lot of people don't even care

Learning has changed in the 21st century. No longer is learning just rote memorization. Now it's just as important, if not moreso, that people have the skills to find information and decide if it's credible or not.

One thing is clear: The more we learn, as humans, the better we are able to run our civilization.

COMMENT QUESTION:

Are there more categories than the above, that we should add to the policy library... about how to keep learning (education) as a priority in society?
